Real life experiences at ABDA!
Miss Wendy, the director of the Academy is the sweetest and most caring Ballet Coach that we could ask for. My daughter has danced here for seven years and has received rigorous classical ballet training in an uplifting and accepting environment. The classes for the younger dancers are also top of the line. Cannot recommend highly enough!
The Academy of Ballet and Dance Arts in Lake Oswego has been the best decision we've made for our daughters. My oldest is in her fourth year and my youngest just started her second, and the growth I've seen goes well beyond dance. The studio offers classical ballet training alongside character dancing, something very few studios in the area actually teach. The instructors are excellent, both technically and genuinely invested in the kids' growth as dancers and people.
What's stood out most to me outside of the dancing is the discipline. My girls have learned real control over their own bodies and their behavior, and that carries into everything else they do. It's shown up in their other sports especially, they approach things with a focus that came straight out of the ballet studio. They're not messing around, and I credit that to what they've learned in class. Also, the control they have lends itself to soccer and so many other sports. My daughter rarely does soccer, but her dribbling is so great due to the control she has with her feet.
If you're looking for ballet instruction in Lake Oswego and want a studio that builds both technique and life skills in a supportive environment, I can't recommend The Academy of Ballet and Dance Arts enough.
